Not macronized. The Latin is printed without long marks.

The complete Meditations on First Philosophy of René Descartes in Latin, as first printed in Paris in 1641: the letter to the Sorbonne, the preface to the reader, the synopsis, and all six meditations.

This second edition takes its Latin from Artur Buchenau’s 1913 edition, which follows the first printing and adopts the corrections of the second (Amsterdam, 1642). Buchenau’s notes on the readings of 1641, 1642, and the French version of 1647 are given in English at the end. The text is reset in larger type with the woodcut ornaments of the 1641 printing and illustrated with pages from that printing including portraits of Descartes and Mersenne. Descartes’ own figures of the eye and the nerves are included.

ego sum, ego existo, quoties a me profertur, vel mente concipitur, necessario esse verum.
I am, I exist, is necessarily true whenever I say it or conceive it in my mind.
