De Re Militari

Not macronized. The Latin is printed without long marks.

Vegetius’s De Re Militari was one of the most widely read handbooks of war in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. This edition is set in a Renaissance style in honor of that history, with images from Stayner’s Vier Bücher der Ritterschafft of 1529, and an introduction by Charles Johnson.

Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum.
Let him who wants peace, then, prepare for war.
